Minister for Fisheries and Royal Greenland at SENA: Global activities for the benefit of Greenland
On Monday, Minister for Fisheries Peter Borg stopped by Royal Greenland’s stand, where he gained insight into how the company operates globally.
International market access and value creation for Greenland were in focus when Greenland’s Minister for Fisheries, Peter Borg, visited SENA in Boston – the largest seafood exhibition in North America and a key platform for dialogue with customers and partners in a region of long‑term strategic importance.
During the visit, the Minister stopped by Royal Greenland’s stand to gain insight into how global operations and international market access enable the sale of Greenlandic seafood worldwide – supporting jobs, income and economic activity in Greenland.
“It has been valuable to experience first‑hand how international markets function and how crucial access to these markets is for ensuring that Greenlandic seafood products can be sold globally. International sales and market access play an important role in supporting jobs, income, and economic activity in Greenland. The primary purpose of my visit has therefore also been to strengthen export opportunities to the North American market in the long term and to diversify Greenland’s exports across several key markets,” says Peter Borg, Minister for Fisheries, Hunting, Agriculture, Self‑Sufficiency and Environment.
Over a number of years, Royal Greenland has built a strong position in international markets, with more than 99% of its revenue generated internationally.
In this way Royal Greenland’s international presence is fundamental for turning Greenlandic raw materials into long‑term value creation for the fisheries sector and coastal communities in Greenland.
“We greatly appreciate the Minister’s visit and his interest in our activities. It is important for us to be able to demonstrate how our global presence and international sales directly benefit Greenland,” says Toke Binzer, CEO Royal Greenland.
