Physical and psychosocial working environment
We want all employees to be offered a safe and healthy working environment
At Royal Greenland, we wish to create a good framework for all employees in a safe and healthy working environment, contributing to a proud working culture.
Health and safety work at Royal Greenland is funded on a decentralised basis, which makes it difficult to achieve a full, documented overview of working environment and environmental measures. For the most part, it is up to the local and regional factory management, in cooperation with working environment and environmental consultants, to achieve improvements and good working routines at the factories.
It is our responsibility that all employees are offered a safe and healthy working environment, and that injuries are kept to a minimum. It is also our responsibility to care for the natural environment around us, and to avoid adverse impacts and emissions to the environment from the factories’ operations. We will therefore combine the two focus areas by implementing a joint, straightforward management system in the company.

Onboard Royal Greenland’s ocean-going trawlers, safety exercises are conducted between each crew shift.
Objective
We wish to minimise work-related injuries and incidents, and also reduce environmental impacts, by strengthening procedures and instructions through a management system.
Status 2020
Decentralised, national management of the working environment and natural environment. Environmental procedure is being compiled.
Goal 2022
Build up a working environment and environmental management system to document compliance with legislation and customer standards within the working environment and natural environment and create an awareness culture with focus on continuous improvement.
Initiatives
Build up a working environment and environmental management system that fulfils the following expectations:
- Work across the organisation to achieve a straightforward operative system
- Resources, progress and implementation of the system are matched to legislation, conditions in practice and customer requirements
- The project’s sub-results are expected to be implemented when they are available, with due consideration of the relation to other elements of the system
Ambition 2030
Our ambition is for our employees to thrive in a safe and healthy environment that is matched to individual requirements, and that is supported by one single overall working environment and environmental management system throughout the Group. Our ambition also includes minimising impacts on and emissions to the external environment.
