The existence of the company
We are creating sustainable earnings, potential for growth and long-term economic stability in Greenland.
Royal Greenland has a long history in Greenland and has grown to become a global player. However, the company’s focus continues to be on ensuring sustainable earnings for Greenlandic society. We are thus committed to looking at long-term solutions which take the environment and the surrounding community into account.
Good business ethics
In our efforts to be a respected partner, we always seek to run our business with the highest degree of integrity. Therefore, we also have a full compliance program on anticorruption, responsible purchasing, wide communication on our company Code of Conduct to guide our employees in ethical behaviour as well as internal initiatives on the issue of modern slavery.
Anti-corruption and modern-slavery
To combat the issues of anti-corruption, Royal Greenland has an anticorruption policy and we carry out mandatory training of our employees according to their exposure to operational risks. Combatting modern slavery, a problem well-hidden and often very organized, happens through good screening before recruitment and through our ethical supplier program. Our efforts to condemn bribery, corruption and modern slavery resonate from the UK bribery act and UK modern slavery act.
Ethical supplier management
We operate in several geographical locations and trades with multiple suppliers, and sub-suppliers, from around the world. In our effort to abide national and international standards and to safeguard ethical violations in our supply chain, we require our suppliers, and sub-suppliers, to comply with Royal Greenland’s Supplier Code of Conduct.
High or medium risk suppliers are additionally required to complete a sustainability self-assessment where they will demonstrate their ethical performance within the themes of labour rights, anti-corruption, working conditions and environmental management.
Royal Greenland focuses on:
- Risk assess and inspect suppliers in relation to product type, origin and purchasing scope
- Require that our suppliers fulfil Royal Greenland's Supplier Code of Conduct
- Reject corruption in all its forms, including extortion, bribery and tax evasion
- Reject modern slavery in all its forms
