Royal Greenland strengthens management of Chilean company

26.02.2020

As of 1 March 2020, Henning Nielsen will take up the position of Deputy CEO of Blue Ocean, a Chilean company in which Royal Greenland recently acquired a 50% interest. Henning Nielsen will become a member of Blue Ocean’s Management Team, together with José Antonio Otero and Pablo Grote, and will help to strengthen the cooperation between Royal Greenland and Blue Ocean, and also contribute to Blue Ocean’s further development.

Henning Nielsen has lived and worked in Santiago in Chile since 1993. His educational background as a dairy engineer has resulted in a long career in various food companies. Henning Nielsen comes from Watt’s S.A., where he has worked since 2006, first as Operations Director and most recently as R&D and Quality Director.

Maximising value

Blue Ocean is located in Santiago, Chile, from where it sells fish and shellfish for the Porvenir-based production company, International Seafood, in which Royal Greenland also holds a 50% interest.

Royal Greenland continuously develops its business by investing in product areas in line with existing ranges. The investments in Blue Ocean and International Seafood will strengthen Royal Greenland’s current range with a portfolio of products that are in high demand in the world market from the same type of customers as Royal Greenland serves today. The range will primarily be strengthened with Chilean king crab, snow crab and seabass.

Royal Greenland’s objective is to use our experience and worldwide market presence to strengthen the value chain in which International Seafood and Blue Ocean operate.
